ABOUT DR. MOHAMMAD ALAM
Leadership Rooted in Service
Dr. Mohammad Alam is a community leader, U.S. Army veteran, advocate, and Democratic candidate for Michigan Senate District 3. His life and work have been guided by a commitment to public service, community empowerment, and fighting for working families across Michigan.
Raised with strong values of faith, integrity, education, and hard work, Dr. Alam understands the everyday struggles facing families in Hamtramck, Highland Park, Detroit, Warren, Madison Heights, and communities throughout District 3. From rising costs and housing challenges to access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunity, he believes government must work for the people—not just the powerful.
A LIFE OF SERVICE
Dr. Alam proudly served in the United States Army during the Iraq and Afghanistan era. His military service strengthened his belief in leadership, discipline, sacrifice, and the responsibility to give back to the community and country.
After serving in uniform, Dr. Alam continued his work in advocacy, public engagement, and grassroots organizing. He has worked with community leaders, faith organizations, civic groups, and activists to address issues affecting underserved and working-class communities.
His background in law, leadership, education, and community organizing has allowed him to advocate for justice, equal opportunity, and stronger civic participation throughout Michigan.
